The apartment
The Loft runs the length of the first floor: two king bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open living room that opens onto a patio facing Mount Horeb. Guests tell us it is bigger than the photographs suggest — and that they hear nothing from the street below.
Both bedrooms have a king size bed. The main bathroom is en-suite with a bath and shower; the second sits across the hallway with a shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped — fridge/freezer, oven, and a window onto Mount Horeb while you cook. It opens to a living and dining area with a wood-burning fireplace, and glass doors onto the patio with its Weber braai and a view that runs the length of the range.
Solar power keeps the lights, the WiFi and the kettle on through load shedding. Backup water tanks cover municipal interruptions. Park behind a motorised gate and walk out through a private walkway onto Main Street — the village square is half a block away.

Wood-burning fireplace
The real thing, for the cold months. Electric blankets on both beds as well.
Solar power, no load shedding
Inverter and solar throughout, with gas for the stove and geysers. You will not notice a power cut.
Half a block from the square
A private walkway puts you on Main Street. Park once and leave the car until you go home.

Such a wonderful experience. Our host is great, very responsive and helpful. The loft was spotless, tastefully decorated, with all amenities one might need. I was amazed by how peaceful and private it was, even being in the centre of town. So convenient to be able to walk to the square from the loft. Highly recommend.
